We're moving ahead with setting up a Community Investment Co-op for Cortes. This is a well-tested model that provides a mechanism for local people to invest in local businesses. Community Investment Co-ops exist on several other islands, and there are even template documents for forming your own. Of course this one will have a Cortes touch, but it's good to know the wheel has already been invented.
If this is interesting to you, or if you have experience with investment regulations, please get in touch. Our working group members are forming a v-shaped wedge to plough through the drift of paperwork required to get our co-op up and running!
